Application Engineer
This is a full-time on-site role located at our headquarters in Englewood, CO.
About the role
We are looking for a knowledgeable and skilled Application Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on providing technical support to both internal and external customers, emphasizing value creation through product and industry expertise. Continuous learning and exploration of customer-aligned areas are essential.
Responsibilities
- Deliver technical assistance to external and internal customers for their process control solutions needs.
- Execute Applied Control's overall business strategy and initiatives through interactions at various levels with customers and vendors.
- Provide internal sales and technical support to account managers and outside sales specialists, exhibiting teamwork and effective communications.
- Understand and effectively communicate customer needs and business issues to colleagues, positioning Applied Control as a trusted advisor.
- Develop expertise in the application of all final control element products and solutions, delivering quality solutions and services to customers.
- Support customer activities including responding to telephone and email requests, delivering technical product and application knowledge, and conducting terms and conditions negotiations.
- Prioritize and manage workflow, ensuring internal and external deadlines are met using a "Quote to Win" strategy for quotations/proposals.
- Build lasting business partnerships by understanding customer requests and providing solutions.
- Actively listen for solutions opportunities within other business groups at Applied Control.
- Work independently and as part of a team, with extensive phone and email communications expected.
- Limited travel may apply, including short, out-of-town paid training sessions.
Requirements
- Strong technical background.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Highly effective at building long-term relationships.
- Entrepreneurial work ethic.
- College degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial strongly preferred).
- Proficiency with MS Office products and industry-related software tools (e.g., sizing, application, quotation tools) and Windows OS.
- Ability to read and understand process and instrumentation drawings (P&IDs) and conform customer instrumentation and final control specification sheets into properly applied products.
- Great problem-solving skills.
Pay
Base wage range: $70,000 - $100,000. Prior work or industry experience, job-related education, and unique skills will be considered when setting the wage rate. Eligible for an annual profit share award based on company performance.

Schedule
9/80 schedule: 9-hour workdays with every other Friday off.
