As an Application Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in demonstrating the technical features and processes of hardware and software products to both prospective and existing customers. You will communicate the benefits of these products, assist regional sales teams, prepare operating instructions, and conduct training programs tailored to customers’ needs. Building strong customer relationships and providing technical support are key components of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct product demonstrations showcasing technical features and processes.
  • Communicate product benefits effectively for complex applications.
  • Assist sales teams with product recommendations for customer applications.
  • Prepare operating instructions and conduct training programs to meet customer needs.
  • Maintain positive customer relationships through effective interaction.
  • Prepare detailed technical specifications for quotations.
  • Develop programs/applications that meet customer specifications/objectives.
  • Consult with customers to incorporate their needs and feedback into application designs.
  • Provide technical support to customers.
  • Ensure programs/applications function properly after maintenance and testing.
  • Analyze and edit existing programs/applications to optimize performance.
  • Resolve challenging issues from problem statement through resolution and follow-up.
  • Stay updated with advancements in application engineering and new technologies.
  • Collaborate with engineering and marketing teams on product development projects.
  • Learn from and study techniques used by experienced Application Engineers.
  • Attend training classes, conduct independent research, and participate in seminars.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 6 months to 2 years’ experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or similar environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency in CAD, CAM, applications, technical support, testing, CNC, and quality assurance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable speaking before small groups.
  • Proficient with MS Office.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Creative, analytical, and driven.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $34.50 - $37.00/hr.
