Application Developer

About the role

In this role, you’ll help translate business needs into scalable technical solutions that support both operational efficiency and long-term digital innovation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain internal software systems and applications
• Analyse business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
• Write clean, scalable code and support the full software development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Troubleshoot, debug, and improve existing applications
• Collaborate with internal teams to identify technical solutions to business challenges
• Support database development, reporting, and data analysis
• Contribute to regular software releases within an agile environment
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other team members

Requirements

• Strong experience with JavaScript and modern development practices
• Experience working with SQL / PSQL and database design or data modelling
• Knowledge of application development using technologies such as C#, .NET, Delphi, VB, or low-code platforms
• Experience developing commercial or enterprise applications used by professionals
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Able to gather requirements and design solutions collaboratively
• Experience working within Agile development environments
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail

Qualifications

• Nice to have: Experience with SQL Server or Supabase, user interface design skills and an understanding of usability principles, experience building dashboards, reports, or data visualisations, previous experience mentoring or supporting junior developers, exposure to education, public sector, or mission-led organisations
