About the role
A day in the life of an Application Analyst I at The Iowa Clinic involves maintaining a current working knowledge of designated software end-user needs, creating new and deleting old user security for designated software, and serving as a member of the Information Technology "support team". Responsibilities also include creating training materials, preparing class schedules, and training personnel on designated software. Additionally, the position requires on-call support for software issues, maintaining relationships with all personnel, promoting a positive image of The Iowa Clinic, and maintaining confidentiality of patient and financial information.
Responsibilities
- Maintains a current working knowledge of designated software end-user needs.
- Creates new and deletes old user security for designated software.
- In collaboration with Information Technology, takes accountability for software including, but not limited to, conducting maintenance, providing system support for databases, reporting problems, testing, training and implementation of upgrades.
- Serves as contact for support related to designated software/hardware issues.
- Creates all training materials and prepares class schedules and trains personnel on designated software.
- On-call for issues relating to software as needed.
- Serves as a member of the Information Technology "support team".
- Maintains relationships with all personnel to facilitate positive working relationships in issue resolution.
- Maintains awareness of applicable laws and/or regulations affecting area of responsibility and makes recommendations for changes to ensure compliance.
- Actively pursues inconsistencies and appropriately brings to the attention of the Manager/Director.
- Promotes a positive, professional image of The Iowa Clinic both internally and externally.
- Promotes positive interpersonal relations with all personnel.
- Maintains confidentiality of all patient and financial information.
- Maintains awareness of workload of co-workers and offers assistance as appropriate.
- Maintains working knowledge of various functions performed in I.T. with an ability to perform the functions during absences or increased workload.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Two years previous experience working with health information software.
- Previous experience in training and creating training materials preferred.
