Appliance Technician

About the role

As an Appliance Technician on the StuyTown team, you’ll troubleshoot and make improvements to the places our residents call home. You should be a passionate person who believes in helping others win by providing the resources and development necessary to grow. You should also be an open-minded communicator, an empathetic operator, and an authentic ambassador of the property.

Responsibilities

• Repair appliances in both occupied and vacant apartments.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair appliances located within our shop.
• Run diagnostics on all appliances to repair and return to operation in a timely manner.
• Aid other Technicians with repairs.
• Manage inventory of refurbished appliances.
• Additionally, assist with other tasks as assigned by your Supervisor.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of appliance service experience or equivalent education is required.
• Ability to use a tablet-based work order program to complete assigned work orders.
• Able to multi-task under high pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
• Able to multi-task under high pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• A strong desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
• A belief that doing the right thing is the only option, no matter how difficult it might be.
• A willingness to respond to emergency situations no matter the time of day.
• A valid Driver's License must be enrolled in the New York State License Event Notification Service (LENS) program.
• Basic – Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Outlook.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Able to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs).

Pay

Hourly Rate: $31.67

Schedule

Weekends or overtime required on occasion.
