About the Role
The Sales Outfitter performs various selling and customer service activities, including greeting and acknowledging customers, handling merchandise, providing information and assistance, and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience.
Responsibilities
- Supports a commitment to world-class customer service.
- Demonstrates products to customers.
- Replenishes product on shelves per merchandising guidelines.
- Maintains product expertise through ongoing training.
- Stays knowledgeable of advertised sales, pricing, and signage.
- Assists with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
- Restocks merchandise as required.
- Keeps work area clean, neat, and well-stocked.
- Follows all company policies and procedures.
- Assists customers in making buying decisions by:
- Identifying and evaluating customer needs.
- Making product recommendations based on analysis.
- Promoting programs such as CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent experience.
Skills
- Ability to calculate discounts and make change.
- Friendly and professional communication with customers and associates.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Experience operating computerized point-of-sale systems.
Physical Requirements
- Constantly stand and/or walk during shift.
- Occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, or ramps.
- Constantly communicate with others to exchange information.
- Occasionally repeat motions involving wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Occasionally operate machinery, power tools, motor vehicles, or heavy equipment.
- Light work: move objects up to 20 pounds constantly; may occasionally lift up to 100 pounds (team lift as needed).
- Occasionally work in tight and confined spaces.
- Occasionally work in noisy environments.
Independent Judgement
Performs tasks under general supervision using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required. Often makes recommendations for work procedures, policies, and practices.
