APP - Nurse Practitioner | Endocrinology

About the role

The Endocrinology Nurse Practitioner at Marshfield Medical Center – Weston provides advanced nursing care to patients with endocrine disorders such as diabetes, thyroid disease, osteoporosis, adrenal and pituitary disorders, and metabolic conditions. They work collaboratively with endocrinologists and healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive, evidence-based care, emphasizing patient education, disease management, and prevention.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history-taking, physical exams, and review of diagnostic tests.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic endocrine disorders.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests as per scope of practice and state regulations.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records and documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians, dietitians, diabetes educators, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
• Facilitate referrals to specialists or community resources as needed.
• Support research activities or clinical trials, if applicable.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• If APRN was licensed prior to August 1, 1995, master's degree in nursing is preferred.
• Certification in Diabetes Education (CDE) or experience in diabetes management is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of endocrine disorders, pathophysiology, and treatment modalities.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in each state of practice.
• Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances in each state of practice.
• State Controlled Substance License (if required by State).
• National board certification as an Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP-BC) or ACNPC-AG), Acute Care Adult (ACNP-BC).
• Obtains and subsequently maintains required specific competencies and certifications as outlined on privilege form.

Pay

Compensation Package: Sanford Health offers a nationally competitive salary with an additional physician benefits package including health, dental and vision insurance, 401K plan, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, CME allowance, allowed time away, malpractice insurance with tail coverage, and a relocation allowance.
