About the role

The neuroscience team at Bronson Medical Group Bronson Neuroscience Center is seeking a team-focused, goal-oriented, energetic Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide care for adult neurology patients. The position is full-time, Monday–Friday, located at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, focusing on general neurology with the potential to build subspecialty practice in areas like stroke, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, and headache.

Responsibilities

  • Support outpatient clinic and inpatient rounding and consults
  • Provide personalized, evidence-based care in both outpatient and inpatient settings
  • Work autonomously and in a team environment
  • Communicate clearly with patients and caregivers
  • Navigate Epic EMR
  • Build subspecialty practice in areas like stroke, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, and headache
  • Coordinate care with the multi-disciplinary team
  • Assess patients and complete appropriate documentation
  • Evaluate lab, EKG, imaging studies
  • Manage patients' progress towards outcomes
  • Facilitate timely discharges/transfers to the appropriate level of care
  • Respond to nursing questions and evaluate status changes for patients

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 – 2 years’ experience as an APP preferred but not required
  • Experience in neurology, inpatient (e.g. hospitalist, critical care, ED), or internal/family medicine preferred
  • Able to practice independently with strong clinical decision making
  • Ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment
  • Graduate of accredited PA/NP program with unrestricted license to practice as a PA/NP in the state of Michigan
  • Desire to provide personalized, evidence-based care at the highest level in both outpatient and inpatient settings
  • Passionate about neurology
  • No call or weekend requirements
