About the role
The Psychiatry APP Fellowship Training Program at Washington University School of Medicine offers a unique opportunity for early career Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) to learn from and practice alongside leading experts in the field.
Responsibilities
- Experience a wide variety of clinical settings within the BJC Healthcare system.
- Participate in weekly continuing education sessions.
- Provide clinical care in both adult and pediatric psychiatric settings.
- Engage in 6 months of hospital-based care and 6 months of outpatient care.
- Contribute to educational activities approximately 25% of the time.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies.
- Able to obtain NP or PA license at least 5 months prior to starting the fellowship.
- Basic Life Support certification.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a NP or PA program.
- MSN – Master of Science in Nursing or Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
- Certified Nurse Practitioner - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Certified Nurse Practitioner - Missouri Division of Professional Registration, Nurse Practitioner (NP) within 3 months - Missouri Division of Professional Registration, Physician Assistant - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Physician Assistant - Missouri Division of Professional Registration, Registered Nurse - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Registered Nurse - Missouri Division of Professional Registration.
