APN/NP Minor Med/ Weekend Coverage
About the role
The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for planning and directing the delivery of primary health care and health education programs at the Minor Med Centers. The incumbent will provide primary care and health education for patients. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.
Responsibilities
- Affords assessments, diagnoses, and treatments according to approved protocols and acceptable standards.
- Performs necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to written, approved protocols developed with and under the supervision of the Medical Director/collaborating physician.
- Collaborates with Medical Physician and ancillary personnel as appropriate to promote quality care for patients.
- Makes referrals as appropriate.
- Recognizes and reacts appropriately to environmental safety factors related to patient care.
- Understands, applies, and supports practice policies, procedures, goals and standards.
- Develops strong partnerships with patients, family members, fellow physicians/nurses and support staff.
- Focuses on high patient and family satisfaction and retention.
Requirements
- Education/Formal Training Requirements: Required - Master's Degree Advanced Practice Nursing. Preferred - Master's Degree Nursing.
- Work Experience Requirements: Required - General nursing of clinical practice at the RN level 3-5 years.
- Licenses And Certifications Requirements: Required - Registered Nurse Tennessee - Tennessee Board of Nursing. Required - Adult Nurse Practitioner - American Nurses Credentialing Center. Required - BASIC LIFE SUPPORT - American Heart Association. Required - Advanced Practice Nurse Tennessee - Tennessee Board of Nursing. Preferred - Family Nurse Practitioner - American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Preferred - Advanced Practice Nurse Mississippi - Mississippi Board of Nursing.
