About the Role
This person will lead projects with professionalism, flexibility, and resourcefulness in a dynamic environment. The role involves managing project quality, timeliness, and safety, mentoring the project team, and developing strong customer relationships through excellent service and communication skills. The Wind Energy team is particularly interested in candidates with project management experience from oil and gas.
Location & Travel
Remote position with 100% travel required. Office locations include Denver, CO; Chicago, IL; Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; and Washington, D.C. Travel will primarily cover TX, NM, AZ, CA, CO, and the Midwest. Rotation schedule: approximately 3 weeks onsite followed by 5 days off. Per diem and travel allowance provided.
Qualifications
- 5–15+ years of construction project management experience
- GC/EPC background preferred
- Large-scale project experience ($100M+), particularly in Wind or Oil and Gas
- Self-perform experience required (50%+ target)
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
- Proven ability to assist with all responsibilities for complex projects
- Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks
- Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
- Preference for candidates with experience in one or more of the following: commercial construction, renewable energy project development, EPC contracting, or emerging technologies
Responsibilities
- Manage overall financial health of projects
- Support and lead EPC contract negotiations, including technical exhibits and project schedules
- Lead vendor procurement and bid/award phase for major subs and suppliers
- Develop and maintain project financial and equipment projections
- Allocate project estimate into financial system, determine cost codes, approve invoices
- Provide financials and billings to accounting, create monthly owner billings
- Manage subcontracts and suppliers, oversee budget and selections of trade partners
- Handle billings, contract management, and change orders
- Manage and develop Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, approve timecards, provide feedback
