About the role

We are looking for an experienced Application Engineer who can translate customer requirements into specific technical solutions. You will be involved from the initial project assignment through technical concept design, cost estimation, and proposal preparation, up to handing over the won project to the implementation team. This role is ideal for someone who understands industrial automation, can view projects holistically, and considers technical aspects alongside cost, timeline, and potential risks.

Responsibilities

  • Design technical solutions for custom machines and production lines, primarily for medical device manufacturing.
  • Analyze customer requirements and prepare technical concepts.
  • Develop technical proposals, cost estimates, budgets, and risk analyses.
  • Coordinate inputs from colleagues in mechanics, electrical engineering, robotics, automation, and vision systems.
  • Collaborate with external suppliers during solution preparation and pricing.
  • Participate in technical discussions with customers and visit their production facilities.
  • Present proposed solutions and provide technical support to the sales team.
  • Hand over prepared solutions to the project and implementation teams after winning the contract.

Requirements

  • University degree in a technical field, preferably mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automation, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in industrial automation, custom machinery, or production lines.
  • Knowledge of automation systems, robotics, machine control, and production processes.
  • Experience preparing technical concepts, proposals, or cost estimates.
  • Ability to evaluate solutions not only technically but also considering costs, timelines, and risks.
  • English proficiency at least at B1 level for regular work communication.
  • Advanced MS Office skills.
  • Independence and ability to coordinate multiple technical specialists.
  • Category B driving license and willingness to travel occasionally.

Nice-to-have

  • Knowledge of 3D CAD systems.
  • Experience in technical sales, pre-sales, or project management.
