API Developer

About the role

We are seeking a talented individual with at least 8+ years of Java/J2EE development, hands-on troubleshooting and deployment experience, and hands-on experience working with cutting-edge technologies such as Spring Boot, Microservices. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance APIs that power our system. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, architect solutions, and ensure scalability, reliability, and security of the APIs. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior developers, lead technical discussions, and drive the adoption of best practices and standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and implement APIs, microservices, and backend components
• Work with API developers across the team to build new features at large scale
• Improve API standards and services
• Development and unit testing of Java RESTful services that integrate with external client systems
• Has knowledge of Kafka, IBM MQ, SQL, and No-SQL
• Working knowledge and hands-on experience in DevOps tools like Jenkins, uDeploy, and Git
• Review Design Documents and provide feedback on approach and estimates
• Create technical designs for new systems, and/or modifications to existing systems
• Translate detailed requirements into functional system designs
• Prioritize work and meet deadlines, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, project team members, supervisors, and employees from other departments
• Work closely with internal and external design, business, and technical counterparts
• Show excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work closely with diverse personality types and understand technical issues
• Research and recommend functional libraries to expedite development

Requirements

• At least 8+ years overall experience in Java/J2EE development with REST API, Spring Boot, Angular, XML, JSON, Swagger
• 8+ years of RESTful or SOAP web services
• 5+ years Angular, CSS, JavaScript, HTML
• 5+ years of GitHub, Jenkins and CI/CD server
• Experience writing unit tests for JavaScript code
• Experience using Agile methodologies for developing applications

Qualifications

• Knowledge of DEVOPs tools like Jenkins, uDeploy, and GIT
• Strong Knowledge in SQL and No-SQL
• Knowledge in any of the Cloud Technologies, such as AWS, Azure etc.
• Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, project team members, supervisors, and employees from other departments
• Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work closely with diverse personality types and understand technical issues
• Research and recommend functional libraries to expedite development
