API developer
About the role
Design, develop, and maintain scalable REST APIs and backend services using Java 21 and Spring Boot.
Build cloud-native microservices leveraging Spring Cloud and modern distributed system patterns.
Develop integrations between enterprise applications, databases, and external services.
Work with NoSQL databases including Cassandra and MongoDB to design efficient data models and queries.
Deploy and manage applications in AWS containerized environments using ECS and EKS.
Create and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
Implement CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation using Jenkins and Spinnaker.
Monitor application performance, troubleshoot production issues, and improve system reliability using Splunk and Dynatrace.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, high-performing, and resilient software solutions.
Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and engineering best practices initiatives.
Stay current with emerging technologies including Spring AI, Agentic AI concepts, and Model Context Protocol (MCP).

- 3-6 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong programming experience with Java 21 (or modern Java versions).
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and REST API development.
- Experience building microservices architectures and distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of Spring Cloud components and cloud-native application design.
- Experience working with Cassandra and/or MongoDB.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
- Experience deploying containerized applications using ECS and/or EKS.

Pay
The salary for this position is between $110K-$120K USD annually. Pay within this range may vary based on geography, experience, skills, and applicable qualifications.
