About the role
The Apartment Maintenance Technician performs routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, and timely response to service requests involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, and general building systems to ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained living environment for residents.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, painting, and minor repairs.
- Handles electrical, HVAC, and plumbing issues as needed.
- Responds to service requests from residents promptly and efficiently.
- Maintains compliance with safety standards and housing regulations.
- Provides courteous, resident-focused service.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED AND 2 years of maintenance experience, or 1 year of experience in electrical, HVAC, and plumbing and 6 months specific education in one of the following trades: Electricity; HVAC; Plumbing/Fitting; or Carpentry.
- Basic computer skills (email, web searching, Microsoft Outlook).
- Ability to use position specific work order systems.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a registered and insured vehicle for frequent and regular travel between communities within the same day and the ability to respond to emergency calls as soon as possible but not to exceed one (1) hour.
- Able to effectively interact with all visitors, residents, and staff.
