Apartment Maintenance Technician - Arlington Area

Essential Functions

• Assist in make readies with electrical, plumbing, and some carpentry as needed
• Complete work orders as directed by Community Manager and or Lead Maintenance
• Repair structures such as showers, sinks, appliances, doors/cabinets, walls, and building exteriors
• Complete preventative maintenance program
• Complete grounds work such as grounds pick up, sweeping and light landscaping
• Have a working knowledge of HVAC systems and be able to maintain, repair and replace HVAC systems (preferred but not required)

• Maintain a professional and courteous manner with residents, vendors and team members
• Ability to use power and hand tools to effectively and safely complete maintenance tasks
• Must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Must have time management skills
• Positive attitude and team player

Requirements

• One year of property maintenance experience preferred
• Willing to rotate 24-hour emergency maintenance on-call
• Possession of valid driver’s license and up to date vehicle insurance OR reliable transportation
• Prior to employment pass criminal background screening

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Work involves daily exposure to weather elements including heat, cold, humidity, wind and precipitation
• Frequent contact with residents in and outside of their apartment homes including those with disabilities
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds, walk up and downstairs, and able to walk the property in its entirety
• Able to work independently or as part of a team, as needed
