AP Manager

Key Job Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the AP team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
• Oversee daily AP operations for 9 energy companies including invoice processing and vendor payments.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain and improve AP systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Collaborate with Land, Operations, field personnel, Treasury, and Accounting teams to resolve discrepancies and improve workflows.
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure timely resolution of payment issues.
• Prepare and review AP aging reports and month-end close activities.
• Support audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Drive automation and digital transformation initiatives within the AP function.
• Monitor KPIs and provide regular reporting to senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive AP experience, including 2+ years in a supervisor role.
• Experience in the oil and gas industry or a related energy sector is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems (OGSys) and AP workflow tools (Open Invoice and Ticket).
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage cross-functional relationships.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Joint interest billing (JIB) and COPAS experience is a plus.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
