Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoice intake, coding, approval workflows, and payment execution
  • Manage and mentor AP staff, including workload distribution, training, and performance oversight
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, expense reports, and vendor payments (ACH, wire, check)
  • Review and approve invoices, payment batches, and account reconciliations for accuracy and compliance
  • Maintain and monitor the vendor master file, ensuring data integrity and proper documentation
  • Resolve escalated vendor inquiries, payment discrepancies, and internal stakeholder concerns
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting standards
  • Lead month-end close activities related to AP, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Support external and internal audits by preparing schedules and responding to audit requests
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation initiatives to increase efficiency
  • Partner with procurement, accounting, and finance teams to streamline procure-to-pay processes
  • Prepare and analyze AP reports, including aging, cash requirements, and disbursement trends
  • Aid in the development and documentation of AP policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Experience leading an AP team, working in a high-volume environment
  • Strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • CPA certification preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounts payable management
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor a team
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Access
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
