About the Role
Our client, a growing, multi-location services organization with a complex, high-volume operating environment, is seeking a Director of Accounts Payable to lead and evolve its accounts payable function. This role involves partnering closely with finance leadership, operational teams, and internal stakeholders across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring structure and scalability to the function, identify opportunities for technology and automation, and improve processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead and evolve the accounts payable function in a high-volume environment.
- Partner with finance leadership, operational teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to leverage technology, automation, and process improvements.
- Build and develop a high-performing accounts payable team.
- Establish KPIs and operational accountability.
- Improve the internal customer experience.
- Create scalable processes within a growing organization.
- Successfully navigate change and organizational growth.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive accounts payable or procure-to-pay experience, with meaningful leadership responsibility.
- Demonstrated experience managing high-volume AP operations, ideally within a multi-location, decentralized, or complex organization.
- Experience leading and developing an AP team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven track record of process improvement, automation, and technology enablement within AP.
- Experience with ERP systems and AP workflow/automation technologies.
- Strong understanding of AP controls, invoice processing, payment processes, vendor management, and procure-to-pay operations.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and establish credibility with executive leadership and internal business partners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with attention to detail.
Pay
Compensation: $130-170K + bonus
Location: Dallas, TX (North) - fully onsite
