AP Chemistry Tutor

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver 90-minute private, in-home tutoring sessions for AP Chemistry
• Create customized lesson plans to address individual student needs and learning goals
• Maintain consistent, positive communication with parents and students to build trust and rapport
• Collaborate with the Top Score team to track student progress and refine tutoring strategies
• Provide academic guidance to build students’ confidence and support their success on AP Chemistry exams

Ideal Candidate

• Proven experience teaching or tutoring AP Chemistry
• Current or former high school teachers or graduate students pursuing a Master’s/Ph.D. in a STEM field are strongly preferred
• Additonal expertise in tutoring STEM subjects (e.g., Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus, AP Biology) is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees or certifications in education/STEM fields preferred
• Passionate about building positive, supportive relationships with students and families
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, with strong time management and process adherence
• Excellent communicator, responsive, and committed to collaborative teamwork

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive Pay: Starting at $50-$75/hour, with potential to earn up to $85/hour based on experience and tenure

Logistical Requirements

• Flexible availability for evenings (4-10 PM weekdays) and weekends
• Minimum commitment of 8 teaching hours per week (e.g., 1-2 weekday evenings and one weekend day)
• Reliable access to a car and willingness to travel up to 30 minutes for in-home sessions
• Ability to pass a background check (required for working with students)
