About the role
Actively greets members, provides a high level of member service, performs clean up, department set-up and closing tasks as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Greet members and help load orders onto the conveyor belt
- Determine member packing preferences and answer questions
- Relate information on special promotions and thank members
- Assist the cashier by counting items left in cart, checking under items, and positioning them for scanning
- Pack member orders into boxes and load to a separate cart or flatbed
- Check packaging for tampering and follow all safety and security procedures
- Follow proper departmental procedures for performance of duties
- Assist members loading orders into the car when appropriate
- Assist members with self checkouts regarding scanning heavy merchandise and entering item numbers
- Monitor self-checkout registers for errors and keep the belt area clean of product and debris
- Maintain cleanliness of register area and general front-end area; clean spills and trip hazards immediately
- Perform set up and closing duties for the department, including returning products, collecting paperwork, stocking registers, and cleaning the area
- Transfer pallets of merchandise from the receiving area to steel shelves, bulk wall, or directly to the sales floor
- Assist with stocking and clear sales floor debris
- Observe and ensure correct product signage; create computer-generated signs and label unmarked product with item number
- Ensure proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials
- Assist with department duties and other departments of the warehouse as necessary
- Operate vehicles, equipment, or machinery as required
Requirements
- Ability to work with open availability to meet the needs of the business
