About the Role

Actively greets members, provides a high level of member service, performs clean-up, department set-up, and closing tasks as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Greets members, helps members load orders onto conveyor belt, determines member packing preferences, answers questions, relates information on special promotions, thanks members.
• Assists cashier by counting items left in cart, checking under items, and positioning them for scanning.
• Packs member orders into boxes and loads them to a separate cart or flatbed.
• Checks packaging for tampering.
• Follows all safety and security procedures.
• Follows proper departmental procedures for performance of duties.
• Assists members loading orders into their cars when appropriate.
• May assist members with self-checkouts, including scanning heavy merchandise and entering item numbers.
• Monitors self-checkout registers for errors and keeps the belt area clean of product and debris.
• Maintains cleanliness of register area and general front-end area; cleans spills and trip hazards immediately.
• Performs set-up and closing duties for the department, such as returning products, collecting paperwork, stocking registers, and cleaning the area.
• Transfers pallets of merchandise from the receiving area to steel shelves, bulk wall, or directly to the sales floor.
• Assists with stocking, clears sales floor debris, and ensures correct product signage; creates computer-generated signs.
• Labels unmarked product with item numbers.
• Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Assists with department duties as necessary and in other departments of the warehouse as needed.
• Ability to operate vehicles, equipment, or machinery.
