Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide specially designed instruction in academic, executive functioning, behavioral, and social-emotional skill development
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students and families
- Utilize evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies to support student growth
- Monitor student progress and use data to guide instructional planning
- Collaborate with school staff and community partners to coordinate individualized student supports
- Create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment that encourages student success
Qualifications
- Maine Department of Education Certification (282) or eligibility
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's preferred)
- Experience working with secondary students preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
Pay
Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Wiscasset School Department Teacher Contract and include health insurance, MainePERS, paid leave, and professional development opportunities.
