Anticipated Special Education teacher - High School Student Support Program

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Provide specially designed instruction in academic, executive functioning, behavioral, and social-emotional skill development
• Build positive, trusting relationships with students and families
• Utilize evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies to support student growth
• Monitor student progress and use data to guide instructional planning
• Collaborate with school staff and community partners to coordinate individualized student supports
• Create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment that encourages student success

Qualifications

• Maine Department of Education Certification (282) or eligibility
• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's preferred)
• Experience working with secondary students preferred
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

Pay

Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Wiscasset School Department Teacher Contract and include health insurance, MainePERS, paid leave, and professional development opportunities.
