Anti-Bribery & Corruption Compliance Officer VP (Governance & Investigations)
About the role
Play a critical role in protecting Barclays by strengthening our Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC) governance framework across the Americas. As a Vice President, you will partner with senior business leaders to provide strategic guidance, manage complex regulatory and governance matters, and drive high-impact initiatives that support a strong culture of compliance. This role is located in New York.
Purpose of the role: To provide data-led expert oversight and check and challenge on business and compliance matters to evidence that the organisation is operating in compliance with Barclays legal, regulatory and ethical responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead Anti-Bribery & Corruption governance activities, including risk assessments, audits, assurance, and testing across the Americas.
- Provide expert guidance to business and functional stakeholders on complex ABC matters, regulatory requirements, and policy interpretation.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance ABC policies, procedures, standards, and governance documentation aligned with legal and regulatory expectations.
- Manage high-profile issue resolution, regulatory escalations, and sensitive governance matters while partnering with senior leadership.
- Drive strategic transformation initiatives and oversee the delivery of complex cross-functional projects from planning through execution.
- Prepare and analyze management information, reporting, and governance materials to support executive and regulatory decision-making.
- Coordinate training, communication, and awareness initiatives that strengthen the firm’s Anti-Bribery & Corruption compliance program.
- Build strong relationships across global teams, regulators, and senior stakeholders while promoting a culture of integrity, sound judgment, and effective risk management.
- Identify and assess compliance risks through thorough reviews of business activities, changes, processes, testing, and systems.
- Conduct investigations of potential market abuse, including but not limited to Insider Dealing, Unlawful Disclosure, Market Manipulation, or Anti-Competitive Conduct.
- Investigate compliance risk events or breaches and oversee corrective actions and preventative measures to avoid future occurrences.
- Implement compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and ensure alignment with international standards, including jurisdictional requirements.
- Collaborate with 1LOD, other relevant Compliance teams, Legal, and risk management functions to facilitate a comprehensive approach to compliance and risk management.
- Identify, investigate, and oversee potential money laundering, terrorist financing, or other financial crime.

- Manage and mitigate risks through assessment in support of the control and governance agenda.
- Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of organizational functions to contribute to achieving business goals.

Pay
Minimum Salary: $145,000
Maximum Salary: $200,000
