Anthropologie Associate Designer - Soft Wovens

Role Responsibilities

• Support seasonal development calendar in partnership with Designer and Director of Sourcing
• Execute specific design development projects as assigned by the Design Director or Designer
• Prepare development packages and participate in all communication and follow up related to each package in partnership with the Design Coordinator
• Manage development and execution of trim packages
• Set up spec sheets for all bodies. Communicate fit and construction details to Technical Design department
• Complete all technical sketches for domestic and overseas programs
• Manage weekly fittings. DMM should be present and active in the fitting process
• Maintain an active role in the weekly Design Flow Meeting. Take notes and follow up on all outstanding issues
• To support the design ideation process through researching elevated inspiration images
• Working with the Senior Designer and Assistant Director on fashion sketching and embroidery design

Role Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with partners in Buying, Production, and Design
• Able to successfully work in a team environment
• Able to respond to business objectives with creative, innovative, and cost-effective design solutions
• Technical knowledge of knit and/or woven and/or sweaters apparel construction
• Knowledge of fabric and trims
• Knowledge of fabric treatments as well as wash and dye techniques
• Knowledge of knit and/or woven and/or sweaters manufacturing techniques and processes
• Able to research and report on industry trend direction, color direction, and fabric innovations approximately 9-12 months ahead of season
• Able to recognize and accurately forecast fashion and cultural trends as they relate to the target customer
• Expert-ability to sketch or to communicate design ideas via computer program
