Annual Giving Associate - CSU Sacramento
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for an organized, detail-oriented professional who enjoys bringing projects to life and making a measurable impact. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving, the Annual Giving Associate serves as a key contributor to Sacramento State’s annual giving efforts by coordinating fundraising campaigns, managing donor engagement activities, supporting data and reporting functions, and ensuring operational excellence across annual giving initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Working closely with annual giving and advancement professionals, this role will help execute multichannel fundraising campaigns.
- Support donor stewardship efforts.
- Cooking annual giving activities for Athletics.
- Provide the operational backbone that helps fundraising programs succeed.
Requirements
- Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of relevant professional experience.
- Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
- Experience in administrative support, communications, project coordination, customer service, or related functions, preferably within a nonprofit, higher education, or mission-driven environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience coordinating projects, maintaining records, tracking deliverables, and supporting operational workflows.
- Ability to analyze information, identify discrepancies, and produce reports that support decision-making.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other standard business applications, along with the ability to learn advancement and CRM systems.
- Ability to work independently while following established policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for students, alumni, donors, faculty, staff, and community members.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends with advance notice.
- Ability to work in person on campus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Exposure to fundraising, advancement, marketing, donor relations, or nonprofit communications through professional, internship, or volunteer experience.
- Experience working with a constituent database, CRM, or donor management system.
- Event planning or event coordination experience.
