Responsibilities

• Cutting-edge technology: Master the operation of computer-aided dispatch (CAD) and shelter software system.
• Safe operations: Operate City animal services vehicles with precision, adhering to State laws and City policies.
• Animal control expertise: Respond to animal complaints, remove wild animals, and enforce City of Plano ordinances and regulations.
• Compassionate care: Euthanize animals with care and compassion, ensuring proper records are maintained.
• Community engagement: Educate citizens on animal laws, responsible pet ownership, and quarantine requirements.
• Administrative proficiency: Maintain daily paperwork, utilize shelter software for transactions, and respond to high-volume calls and walk-ins.
• Event participation: Assist with off-site events like adoption fairs, providing adoption counseling.
• Animal health and welfare: Learn proper disinfection techniques, ensure proper identification, and provide necessary medical care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills.
