Animal Feed Attendant

About the role

Join our Attractions Team as a part-time Animal Feed Attendant in the Guest Experience department. This entry-level position is responsible for assisting with animal feeds at the Kangaroo, Flamingo, and Giraffe feeding stations, as well as overseeing guest interactions with birds in the aviaries and our new Amazonian Rainforest exhibit. This is NOT an animal care position, but an opportunity to provide exceptional customer service and ensure a safe, family-friendly environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a responsible, safe manner at all bird aviaries, giraffe ticketing station, and kangaroo feeds.
• Distribute food and handle tickets at all animal feeding stations, including bird aviaries (budgie, lorikeet, and flamingo), kangaroo, and giraffe.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed at all attractions by both staff and guests.
• Provide friendly, professional service to Zoo guests and fellow staff members; guide, direct, and engage guests with a detailed and pleasant manner.
• Work with delicate, wild animals, primarily birds, demonstrating patience and care.
• Collaborate as part of a team while also being able to work independently.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Any experience excelling in customer service is a plus.
• Must be temperamentally suited to work with delicate, wild animals.

Pay

$13.00 per hour.

Schedule

Part-time, variable hourly (20-29 hours per week). Flexible scheduling available, making it student and retiree friendly.
