Minimum qualifications & Requirements
The ideal candidate must be able to under general direction, be responsible for nursing services on an assigned tour of duty or for a division of a mental health facility, or to assist the nursing supervisor of a major nursing department; to promote effective communication; to direct, supervise, and evaluate nursing personnel; to assist in making recommendations for hiring, promoting, disciplining, or terminating nursing personnel; to assist with developing criteria for job performance and evaluation; to maintain appropriate administrative records; to participate in and assist in planning staff development; to contribute to the improvement of nursing care through professional growth and development; to coordinate nursing services with nursing education; to assist in the establishment and maintenance of nursing standards; to assist in developing and implementing nursing policies and procedures; to assist in establishing departmental supply quotas and maintain equipment standards; to assist in the preparation of the nursing budget; to assist in identifying staffing needs on a long and short term basis; to assist in regulating the patient care environment; to assist in interpreting and implementing labor contracts; to participate in and utilize results of studies and research; and to perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Minimum qualifications & Requirements
- Education and Experience:
- Registered or eligible for registration as a nurse in the State of Wisconsin.
- Possession of a bachelor's degree. A major in nursing preferred.
- Two years' experience as a registered nurse in a head nurse, supervisory, or teaching assignment;
- OR Possession of a master's degree and one year's experience in a nursing specialty area with demonstrated leadership ability;
- Applicants currently in their final semester of study will be considered as meeting the degree requirement pending proof of graduation.
- OR Five years' experience as a registered nurse in a head nurse, supervisory, or teaching assignment.

- THE EXAMINATION is open to qualified residents of the United States. Appointee must establish residence within the confines of the State of Wisconsin within six months of appointment and maintain such residency during incumbency.
