Animal Control Officer

About the role

This is a full-time, regular, exempt position responsible for supervising zoning ordinance enforcement and departmental activities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise zoning ordinance enforcement
• Serve as the primary point of contact for zoning inquiries
• Oversee departmental activities and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
• Prepare and maintain records related to zoning applications and decisions
• Respond to public inquiries regarding zoning issues
• Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with zoning ordinances

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in planning/environmental/natural sciences from a four-year college or university
• One to two years of experience and/or training in zoning administration or related field
• Valid driver’s license or equivalent mobility
• Agricultural Inspector Certificate or obtain within six months of employment
• Certified On-Site Sewer Inspector or obtain certification within six months of employment

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Knowledge of zoning laws and regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Pay

$42,368.10 - 57,881.01 per year, according to the 2008 pay scale
