About the role
This is a full-time, regular, exempt position responsible for supervising zoning ordinance enforcement and departmental activities.
Responsibilities
- Supervise zoning ordinance enforcement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for zoning inquiries
- Oversee departmental activities and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Prepare and maintain records related to zoning applications and decisions
- Respond to public inquiries regarding zoning issues
- Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with zoning ordinances
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in planning/environmental/natural sciences from a four-year college or university
- One to two years of experience and/or training in zoning administration or related field
- Valid driver’s license or equivalent mobility
- Agricultural Inspector Certificate or obtain within six months of employment
- Certified On-Site Sewer Inspector or obtain certification within six months of employment

- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Knowledge of zoning laws and regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Pay
$42,368.10 - 57,881.01 per year, according to the 2008 pay scale
