Anesthesiology, Chief of Cardiac Division

About the role

The Montefiore Einstein Department of Anesthesiology is seeking a full-time, board-certified anesthesiologist to serve as the Division Director of Cardiac Anesthesiology. The Division works closely with a dedicated surgical service to manage complex cardiac procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day clinical operations of Cardiac Anesthesia services across multiple hospitals within Montefiore Medical Center
• Ensure the highest level of expertise within the Division of Cardiac Anesthesiology through continuing medical education
• Interface with Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery leadership to maintain efficient surgical workflow
• Maintain and improve the evidence-based ERAS protocol for patients undergoing cardiac procedures
• Train and supervise CRNAs, residents, and fellows
• Participate in team science to support professional and clinical advancement of faculty within the division
• Evaluate and maintain equipment and supplies needed for the Cardiac Anesthesia service
• Collaborate with leadership in Anesthesia Technical Support to support the Cardiac Anesthesia service
• Create a hiring and onboarding process for new faculty
• Support and conduct collaborative research in advancement of Cardiac Anesthesiology practices to improve patient safety and outcomes
• Support the department's goals for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion practices

Qualifications

• MD, DO or foreign equivalent
• Board Certified in Anesthesiology
• Eligible for New York State Medical License
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and excellent communication skills
• Reputable ethical standards, strong interpersonal skills, and membership in good standing of their current medical staff
