About the Role

We are seeking an Anesthesiologist to join our team at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital (KBRH), where you’ll work alongside 10 anesthesiologists and an Anesthesiology Assistant in a supportive and collaborative environment. Our department provides anesthesia services for a wide range of surgical specialties, including orthopedics, urology, ENT, plastics, obstetrics, and gynecology. We offer labour analgesia for approximately 300 deliveries per year, with an epidural rate of 50%, and operate a Preoperative Anesthesia Consultation Clinic two days per week.

We welcome candidates with experience in both general and regional anesthesia who are comfortable caring for patients aged 2 and older. While we are looking to fill a full-time position, we are open to part-time applicants and are happy to discuss locum opportunities within Interior Health. Leadership development is available through Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Program.

• 24/7 emergency and trauma care
• Specialized units for intensive care, acute medical conditions, renal dialysis, and neonatal intensive care
• 24-hour High Acuity Response Team (HART) for critically ill and injured patients

Our dedicated specialists cover ophthalmology, otolaryngology, orthopedic surgery, pediatrics, plastic surgery, psychiatry, urology, general surgery, obstetrics & gynecology, neurology, oncology, and internal medicine.

Pay

Compensation Type: Clinical Service Contract

Estimated Remuneration: Approximately $500,000 + MOCAP Level 2 Physician Overhead (no overhead cost)

• May be eligible for additional remuneration under the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA), including:
• Retention Flat Fee: $17,790.72
• Relocation Funding: $9,000 - $15,000 based on move location
• Recruitment Incentive: $15,000 (for full-time)
