About the role
We are seeking two full-time Anesthesiologists to join the department at Ridge Meadows Hospital. Ridge Meadows Hospital (RMH) is located in Maple Ridge (approximately 40 minutes from Vancouver) within the local health area that includes the District of Maple Ridge, the City of Pitt Meadows, and a large unincorporated, sparsely populated area. The hospital serves a catchment population exceeding 100,000. RMH is a community hospital providing primary and secondary acute care plus specialty services: 24/7 emergency, ambulatory day surgery, General and Internal Medicine, Rehabilitation, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Urology, Dental Surgery (paediatric and adult), an 8‑bedded ICU, Pharmacy, Imaging, and a Medical Laboratory for both inpatient and outpatient needs. The site also offers a continuum of adult psychiatric and social services (inpatient and outpatient) including electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). RMH is a 171‑bedded community hospital (also noted as having 167 acute care beds) and is fully accredited, offering medical, surgical, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatric, urology, orthopedics, cardiology, 8‑bedded critical care, and dental services, with 24/7 emergency services recording over 45,000 visits annually (alternatively cited as nearly 44,000 visits per year). The successful candidates would join the department on a one‑in‑five call schedule. Compensation is fee‑for‑service. The position is available immediately. Applicants must be eligible for FRCPC certification in Anesthesiology and for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC; all qualified candidates, including international medical graduates, are encouraged to apply.
