Anesthesiologist

Duties

• Provides quality and versatile anesthesia care.
• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
• Administer sedation or pain medications using intravenous, local, caudal or spinal methods during surgical and other medical procedures.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for patients and monitor their pain medications before, during, and after surgery; address adverse complications or reactions; document anesthesia administration and patient conditions.
• Determine risks associated with medical procedures by gathering medical histories, performing examinations, ordering diagnostic tests, and consulting with other healthcare professionals.
• Manage airway management and life support during emergency surgeries.
• Monitor patients post-surgery until they are stable enough to transition to another location or leave the facility.
• Coordinate anesthesiological services and work with other professionals to develop procedures and plans; oversee the duties of medical technicians, nurses, and other healthcare support staff.
• Provide education to patients and families regarding post-procedure care and potential complications; instruct on preventive measures and improving health.
• Collaborate with other medical professionals to create care plans and deliver high-quality patient care.
• Conduct research to advance the field of anesthesiology.

Qualifications

• Medical degree required.
• Board certification in anesthesiology is mandatory.
• A minimum of two years of progressive work experience in a multispecialty physician group model is preferred.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for collaborating with various clinical staff.
• Knowledge of infection prevention and control techniques is necessary.
• Understanding of growth and development across the lifespan and the ability to assess data reflective of patient requirements are important.
• Proficiency in computer technology is required.
• The ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work independently is crucial.
• A strong sense of ethics and the ability to manage conflicts and resolve problems are expected.
