ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs room turnover between cases in an efficient manner, following Universal Blood and Body Fluid (UBBF) precautions and utilizing Personal Protective Eyewear (PPE).
- Performs terminal cleaning of OR suites following a predetermined schedule on a rotational basis using PPE and following UBBF Guidelines.
- Maintains the cleanliness, orderliness, and appearance of substerile rooms and scrub sink areas.
- Maintains awareness of the surgery schedule and monitors par levels in supply and patient care areas.
- Communicates to Materials Management/Buyer regarding the need for additional supplies and assists in the restocking of those areas.
- Promotes cost containment by utilizing equipment and supplies in a cost-effective manner.
- Aids in the safe transfer and transport of patients using proper body mechanics.
- Aid in patient positioning under the direction of an RN or Physician.
- Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Provides anesthesiologist support as a physician extender and part of the patient care team.
- Familiar with anesthesia machines and responsible for maintaining proper working order of the machines.
- Performs any other duties assigned.
EDUCATION
- A high school diploma/GED or equivalent is required.
EXPERIENCE
- One year of EVS experience required.
- Healthcare industry experience is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of floor cleaning equipment is helpful.
SKILLS

- Ability to follow product use instructions.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS
- Standing, and walking for long periods of time.
- Exposed to a variety of environmental elements.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
- Work requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Requires lifting, pushing and pulling of approximately 50 lbs.
- Requires organizational skills.
