Anesthesia Technician/ ORA (Pool)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Performs room turnover between cases in an efficient manner, following Universal Blood and Body Fluid (UBBF) precautions and utilizing Personal Protective Eyewear (PPE).
• Performs terminal cleaning of OR suites following a predetermined schedule on a rotational basis using PPE and following UBBF Guidelines.
• Maintains the cleanliness, orderliness, and appearance of substerile rooms and scrub sink areas.
• Maintains awareness of the surgery schedule and monitors par levels in supply and patient care areas.
• Communicates to Materials Management/Buyer regarding the need for additional supplies and assists in the restocking of those areas.
• Promotes cost containment by utilizing equipment and supplies in a cost-effective manner.
• Aids in the safe transfer and transport of patients using proper body mechanics.
• Aid in patient positioning under the direction of an RN or Physician.
• Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Provides anesthesiologist support as a physician extender and part of the patient care team.
• Familiar with anesthesia machines and responsible for maintaining proper working order of the machines.
• Performs any other duties assigned.

EDUCATION

• A high school diploma/GED or equivalent is required.

EXPERIENCE

• One year of EVS experience required.
• Healthcare industry experience is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE

• Knowledge of floor cleaning equipment is helpful.

SKILLS

• Good organizational skills.

• Ability to follow product use instructions.

• Standing, and walking for long periods of time.

• Work requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires lifting, pushing and pulling of approximately 50 lbs.
