Anesthesia Technician

Job Summary

As our Anesthesia Technician, you will provide critical support in the safe and efficient administration of anesthesia, assisting providers with equipment and supplies for diverse surgical and non-surgical cases. Every day, you will prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment, supplies, and medications before, during, and after cases.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment, supplies, and medications before, during, and after cases.
• Perform complex procedures under direction (e.g., setting up and assisting with line placement, intubation, extubation).
• Manage supply inventory, room turnover, and patient positioning/transport.
• Assist providers and medical/surgical support staff in activities such as patient assessment, treatment, anesthesia intervention, physiological monitoring, and direct patient care.
• Assist with difficult airway and/or emergency situations.
• Assist in the sterile placement of invasive physiological monitoring and treatment catheters (e.g., arterial, pulmonary catheters, venous infusion ports, central venous pressures).
• Respond to patient-specific needs including (not limited to): blood, medications, supply and equipment during the surgical procedure.
• Follow all guidelines as instructed by the licensed provider.
• Perform patient identification procedures to ensure proper delivery of blood products and medications.
• Operates surgical equipment under the direction of a licensed provider while ensuring operating/procedure rooms and pre/post rooms are adequately stocked with appropriate quantity of supplies and required.
• Works closely with Supply logistics to maintain anesthesia product supply for the operating room and procedural areas throughout the facility.

Requirements

• Required High School GED and EMT experience, Paramedic experience or military Medic, upon hire and
• CNA or PCT training program, upon hire or
• Completion of fundamentals as a nursing student and 12 months of acute care (bedside) experience, upon hire
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
