Anesthesia Tech Team Leader
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Aids anesthesiologists with the preparation and placement of brain and nerve function monitors.
- Aids anesthesiologists during cases both inside and outside the operating room.
- Prepares age-appropriate anesthesia equipment, monitors, and airways.
- Maintains and transports specialty devices used in the clinical area.
- Assists providers with transporting patients to and from anesthetizing locations.
- Supervises the maintenance of anesthesia equipment.
- Acts as a department project leader, committee leader, or specialty team leader.
- Participates in the development of information, programs, or projects for the division.
- May set up and troubleshoot the intra-aortic balloon pump per Departmental guidelines, if required.
- Ensures all staff are trained on all anesthesia equipment, troubleshooting, and setup.
- Serves as a mentor/preceptor and completes preceptor training.
- Identifies performance improvement activities and facilitates projects to carry out improvement initiatives.
- Attends institutional and departmental health, safety, and infection control in-services by established deadlines.
Skills & Requirements
- H.S. diploma or GED required.
- BLS - Cert-Basic Life Support by American Heart Association required in addition to one of the following:
- CER-A-T - Cert-Cert Anesthesia TECH by American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians (ASATT)
- Completion of an anesthesia technician training program approved by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians (ASATT)
- Associate’s degree in applied science in a healthcare field with 7 years of experience
- 5 years of experience as an anesthesia technician required
