Andrology Lab Technician

Responsibilities

Specimen processing
Laboratory testing
Quality control
Record maintenance
Supporting infertility assessment and treatment through accurate and timely laboratory results

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a biological, chemical, clinical laboratory science, or related field
  • Prior clinical or research laboratory experience preferred, but not required
  • Laboratory training through degree program or relevant experience
  • Electronic Medical Records experience preferred
  • Excel at Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
  • Ability to operate laboratory equipment, hormone analyzers, and microscopes

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months’ laboratory training towards degree or experience in a clinical or research lab
  • Technical skills in electronic medical records and Microsoft Office Suites
  • Operates laboratory equipment, hormone analyzers, and microscopes

Skills

  • Attention to detail
  • Follows laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing
  • Maintains accurate and current records of patient reports and inventory
  • Documents all quality control activities and instrument/procedural calibrations and maintenance
  • Stays current with laboratory Operating Manual regarding quality assurance, quality control, safety procedures, and operating guidelines
  • Adheres to OSHA requirements for safe laboratory operations
  • Maintains quality care by following therapeutic standards, practice, physician, and laboratory division philosophies, as well as standards of care set by the state and other governing agency regulations
  • Works cooperatively with multidisciplinary teams to provide good patient care
  • Maintains patient confidentiality
