Andover - Direct Care Workers

About the role

A.B.I. RESOURCES is seeking dedicated and compassionate Direct Care Workers, Companions, ILST, Recovery Assistants, RAs, CNAs, PCAs, and BCIs to provide support in the homes of individuals recovering from brain injuries, strokes, concussions, and other neurological conditions. Candidates should have at least one to two years of experience working in community settings with people recovering from similar conditions.

Responsibilities

• Support clients with daily activities such as shopping, medical appointments, and community outings.
• Assist with personal hygiene and grooming tasks.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Help clients manage medications and appointments.
• Engage in activities that promote socialization and independence.

Requirements

• At least one to two years of experience in community settings with people recovering from brain injuries, strokes, concussions, or related conditions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle challenging behaviors and situations.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (for some positions).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some candidates may require additional certifications or training.

Skills

• Excellent communication and empathy skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of community resources and services.
• Basic computer skills for scheduling and record-keeping.
