Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Shifts on this unit are 12 hours for this job description.
- Associate must be able to work 12 hour shifts to qualify for the position.
- Demonstrates knowledge and technical skill necessary for providing competent, comprehensive and age-specific patient care.
- Demonstrates leadership abilities, and problem solving skills.
- Serves as a professional role model for others.
- Demonstrates ability to teach/instruct patients, families and/or colleagues.
- Demonstrates computer and keyboarding skills necessary to provide a complete and accurate electronic medical record.
- Functions in a professional manner under stressful or emergency conditions.
- Utilizes effective verbal, non-verbal and written forms of communication.
- Works effectively with others consistently demonstrating tact, discretion, diplomacy and a commitment to teamwork and Patients First.

Certification/License
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Registered Nurse (RN)
Additional License/Credential Requirements
- STABLE Certification preferred
- AWHONN Fetal Monitoring preferred.
Additional Education and Experience Requirements
- Mandatory Annual Continuing Education: Customer Service, Fire and Safety, Confidentiality-HIPAA, Infection Control, Corporate Compliance.
- Annual Unit Specific Competencies, and any education required by Regulatory Accreditation Agencies, Scope of Practice, and/or Hancock Regional Hospital.
- - while available Step Two Breast Feeding Education and K2 Fetal Monitoring Education Software.
