About the role
As an Anchor, you are the face of a story, connecting audiences with the news that matters to their communities. You’re also a leader behind the scenes, playing an active role in editorial discussions and decisions. You play a critical role on a collaborative team that creates compelling, timely, and accurate content intended to engage and connect with viewers across traditional and digital platforms.
Spectrum News is made up of over 30 hyper-local news and regional sports networks dedicated to producing original, unbiased, and high-quality content. We use innovative journalistic approaches, backed by comprehensive research, to engage and inform viewers on the most essential news, issues, and events taking place in their communities. Beyond TV news distribution, our newsrooms publish via the Spectrum News app and connected television. We’re committed to providing viewers with 24-hour news—no matter how, when, and where they want it.

Responsibilities
- Deliver captivating newscasts that inform and empower local communities
- Lead editorial discussions and decisions behind the scenes
- Create compelling, timely, and accurate content for traditional and digital platforms
- Travel to discover important stories in your neighborhood and interact with the community
- Work different shifts or longer shifts due to breaking news and severe weather emergencies, including weekends and holidays
Requirements
- 5-7 years of television news anchoring experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field, or comparable television work experience
- Experience in live shooting and editing news
- Excellent on-air camera skills and ability to work under pressure
- Leadership skills and capability to manage multiple priorities
- Proactive problem-solver
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions for field duties
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a 24-hour news channel
Working Conditions
Works inside in a climate-controlled environment but may be assigned to field duties and be subjected to various weather conditions that could include extreme heat or cold.
