About the role
As an Anchor at Spectrum News, you are the face of a story, connecting audiences with the news that matters to their communities. You’re also a leader behind the scenes, playing an active role in editorial discussions and decisions.
Responsibilities
- Connect audiences with the stories that matter to their daily lives
- Strike a balance between anchoring and behind-the-scenes editorial leadership
- Create compelling, timely, and accurate content intended to engage and connect with viewers across traditional and digital platforms
- Tell stories across platforms including TV, connected television, and digital
Requirements
- Experience: Television news anchoring - 5-7 years
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field or comparable television work experience
- Technical Skills: Experience in live shooting and editing news
- Skills: Excellent on-air camera skills, ability to work under pressure
- Abilities: Leadership skills, capable of managing multiple priorities as well as a proactive problem-solver
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a 24-hour news channel
Qualifications
- Must be able to work different shifts or longer shifts due to "breaking news" and severe weather emergencies
- Able to work weekends and holidays
