Anatomy Laboratory Technician

Role Overview The Senior Laboratory Technician provides expert support for surgical, procedural, educational, clinical, and research activities in a laboratory setting. They handle equipment setup, sterilization, inventory management, and tissue handling, including cadaveric and animal tissues where applicable. The technician supports simulation activities, assists with data collection, and ensures compliance with policies and safety protocols. Key Responsibilities Prepare and maintain laboratory environments and equipment.Support surgical procedures, tissue management, and sterilization processes.Handle hazardous waste and ensure safety standards.Train and mentor junior staff, recommend policy updates, and evaluate equipment.Assist with scheduling, billing, and inventory management.Support simulation activities and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Qualifications Associate degree in life sciences or healthcare-related field with 5 years of relevant experience, or bachelor’s degree with 3 years of experience.Proficiency in surgical techniques, instrumentation, and laboratory management.Licensure such as Certified Surgical Technician or Veterinary Technician preferred.Ability to work independently, adapt to unpredictable situations, and communicate effectively.Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and occasional off-hours. Skills & Attributes Strong organizational, problem-solving, and self-direction abilities.Experience with animal procedures or simulation equipment is a plus.Excellent communication and organizational skills.
