About the role
The Department of Biological Sciences at Binghamton University seeks a full-time Instructional Support Associate for anatomy and physiology laboratory courses, beginning Fall 2026.
Responsibilities
- Teach in-person anatomy and physiology laboratory sections, including evening labs.
- Handle weekly grading, ordering supplies, and preparing materials for laboratory courses.
- Participate in weekly meetings to support scheduling and coordination of instructional activities in laboratory spaces.
- Assist with the handling, dissection, and disposal of preserved mammalian specimens (including cats).
- Coordinate, communicate, and collaborate with faculty and staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in biology or a related field.
- Organizational and written/verbal communication skills.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods and push/pull/lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Master’s degree (or higher) in biology or a related field.
- Training or experience in anatomy and physiology.
- Laboratory experience.
- Work experience at the college level.
- Experience assisting in teaching anatomy and physiology courses.
