About the role
Purple Carrot is a company founded in 2014 that delivers plant-based meals to customers. We are seeking an Analytics Engineer to join our mission-driven team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the implementation and maintenance of end-to-end data pipelines and infrastructure, from ingestion through transformation and analytics
- Develop, test, and optimize data models and data warehouse architecture with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability
- Ensure data quality through validation, monitoring, testing, and strong documentation practices
- Implement and uphold data governance standards, including data dictionaries, lineage, access controls, and clear ownership of business logic
- Create and maintain BI dashboards and reporting tools that help teams understand performance and make data-informed decisions
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data models, pipelines, reporting logic, and key data definitions
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Analytics Engineer and cross-functional partners to execute on defined workstreams within an established data framework
- Absorb occasional ad-hoc and exploratory data analysis to help answer business questions and identify trends
- Absorb support for ad-hoc projects and tasks as necessary
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience in the data space as a senior data analyst, data analyst, analytics engineer, data engineer, or equivalent role
- Bachelor's degree in data analytics, computer science, information systems, business analytics, mathematics, statistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Able to commute to the Dedham, MA office 3 days per week
- Proficiency in SQL and dbt for data transformation, automation, and modeling
- Experience building and maintaining data pipelines using modern data stack technologies such as Git, dbt, Stitch, cloud data warehouses, or similar tools
- Strong background in data quality assurance, governance frameworks, and best practices for documentation
- Experience with BI and reporting tools such as Looker, Omni, or similar platforms
- Ability to work independently on assigned workstreams while collaborating closely with a senior team member
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

- Experience working in or supporting a B2C subscription business model
- Comfortable working within an established data framework while driving execution independently on defined workstreams
- Strong curiosity and ability to translate business questions into clear, scalable data solutions

- Enjoyment of documentation, process improvement, and building systems that make work easier for others

Pay
The anticipated base salary range for this role is $90,000 - $100,000. Compensation is based on experience and qualifications, and the posted range is not a guarantee of any specific offer.
Schedule
This hybrid role is based in Dedham, MA. Our hybrid approach includes 3 days in-office each week, giving teams the best of both flexibility and collaboration. Many team members choose to come in more often - it's a great way to stay inspired and engaged with the team.
