About the role
The Analytics Consultant serves as a bridge between strategic business needs and analytical solutions, partnering with business units and Analytics Partners to identify and address analytical opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute analytical projects, applying appropriate methodologies and techniques, under the guidance of Analytics Partners.
- Conduct data exploration, cleaning, and preparation to ensure data quality and integrity.
- Develop and implement analytical models, leveraging statistical and machine learning techniques as needed.
- Generate actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
- Communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences through clear visualizations and presentations.
- Participate in the implementation and deployment of analytical solutions.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and Analytics Partners to understand their goals, challenges, and analytical requirements.
- Proactively identify opportunities to leverage analytics to drive business value and improve decision-making.
- Translate business needs into well-defined analytical projects, outlining scope, objectives, and success metrics.
- Conduct comprehensive business assessments and needs analyses to inform project prioritization and execution.
- Support Analytics Partners in developing strategic recommendations and roadmaps.
Requirements
- Demonstrate proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R).
- Utilize data visualization tools to create clear and impactful presentations.
- Stay abreast of emerging analytical techniques and technologies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to data and analysis.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of data pipelines and analytical infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Economics, Finance, Math, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in consulting, analytics, data science, or a related field, with demonstrated success in delivering analytical projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business problems into analytical frameworks.
- Proven experience performing business analysis or financial/statistical data analysis, preferably in a retail environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and knowledge of Business Intelligence Tools such as Microsoft Power BI.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL, SAS, SPSS, Palantir, Python, and other relevant analytical software.
- Knowledge of syndicated data like IRI and Nielsen is a plus.
