Analytical Laboratory Technician

Kelly Science is seeking a long-term contract Analytical Technician to support analytical method development, non-GLP and GLP validations, and sample analysis for our Agriscience customer in Indianapolis, IN. This entry-level, onsite position is ideal for a local recent Chemistry graduate with hands-on laboratory experience and an interest in analytical chemistry.

Schedule & Work Environment

• Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week
• 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Onsite; local candidates only
• Onsite interview required
• No travel or driving required
• Medical surveillance not required

Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of Analytical R&D scientists to support sample weighing, preparation, and analysis of active ingredients, intermediates, impurities, formulations, and related materials.
• Perform quantitative and qualitative analytical testing in support of research and development activities.
• Support non-GLP and GLP method validation laboratory experiments as needed.
• Learn and operate analytical instrumentation, including HPLC, GC, LC/MS, GC/MS, and related equipment.
• Perform routine instrument maintenance and assist with troubleshooting instrument issues.
• Process analytical data and document experiments and results accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain high standards for data quality, integrity, and laboratory documentation.
• Collaborate effectively with scientists and other key stakeholders to support project objectives.
• Adapt to changing priorities and accommodate urgent projects as needed.
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team.
• Follow all EHS requirements and maintain a strong commitment to laboratory safety.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field.
• Previous academic or professional laboratory experience required.
• Foundational knowledge of analytical chemistry.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Willingness to continually learn new analytical techniques and instrumentation.
• Commitment to following laboratory procedures and safety standards.
• Self-motivated, dependable, and enthusiastic approach to work.

Preferred Technical Experience

• Hands-on experience with one or more of the following analytical techniques or instruments is highly desirable:
  • HPLC
  • GC
  • LC/MS or GC/MS
  • Karl Fischer
  • Titration
  • Other analytical chemistry instrumentation and techniques
