Analytical Lab Tech
Job Description
Perform analytical testing and evaluation of flavor and fragrance raw materials, finished products, and experimental formulations. Compound experimental formulations for the Flavor and Fragrance laboratories as needed. Clean, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation to ensure accurate and reliable analytical results. Prepare, analyze, interpret, and communicate laboratory data and technical reports. Maintain accurate laboratory records, documentation, and test results in accordance with company procedures. Participate in sensory evaluations, product development meetings, and technical discussions. Assist with product investigations, quality complaints, root cause analysis, and corrective actions. Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Production, and other departments to support technical initiatives. Assist with laboratory organization, inventory management, and general housekeeping. Support validation studies, method development, and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned. Train and assist junior laboratory personnel when appropriate. Maintain compliance with laboratory safety procedures, company policies, and regulatory guidelines.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of laboratory practices and analytical chemistry techniques.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to analyze technical information and communicate findings effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
- Experience working with laboratory databases and reporting systems preferred.
- Maintain confidentiality of technical information.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional environment.
- Commitment to laboratory safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline required.
- One (1) to two (2) years of laboratory experience preferred.
- Experience working with analytical instrumentation and laboratory equipment.
- Experience within the flavor, fragrance, food, chemical, pharmaceutical, or consumer products industry is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interpret technical procedures, scientific data, and laboratory reports.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Experience using laboratory information systems (LIMS) and Microsoft Office applications preferred.
Working Hours
Willingness to adjust schedules as needed to accommodate call center demands.
Pay Rate
$24.00 to $28.00 per hour
