About the role
The Analytical Lab Technician produces accurate and timely analysis of specified samples using defined methods and procedures to support the company’s sales, material management, and production efforts.
Responsibilities
- Performs analyses according to assigned written procedures, manages several concurrent analyses, and strives to exceed accuracy and performance measures.
- Closely examines sample quality and labeling, reports deviations to Supervisor/Manager, and suggests corrective actions.
- Prepares and reviews assay documentation for approval by Supervisor/Manager.
- Reviews equipment calibration status and corrects as needed; ensures laboratory data completeness and accuracy.
- Supports method development activities.
- Participates in shift changeovers and communicates the status of analyses and pending tasks.
- Assists in generating training materials for methods, equipment, quality, and procedures as directed by the laboratory manager.
Requirements
- High school diploma required; degree or certificate in chemistry preferred but not required.
- Experience in wet chemical analysis and precious metals analysis preferred.
- Familiarity with general preparation and instrumental methods such as ICP, ICP-MS, Acid/Base Titrations, and XRF.
- Ability to communicate effectively (orally and in writing) across all organizational levels.
- Proficiency in basic calculations involving volume, mass, atomic percentages, weight percentages, density, molecular weight of alloys/compounds, and charge weights.
- Understanding of statistical concepts, probabilities, and formula manipulation.

- Close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception with the ability to adjust focus.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; occasional taste or smell requirements.
