Responsibilities
- Conduct work activities and demonstrate leadership behavior consistent with Celanese Core Values.
- Use analytical expertise to ensure facility and personal adherence to regulatory, company policies, and good manufacturing practices.
- Work closely with lab management to develop strategies and systems that improve analytical performance (safety, test variation, efficiency, technology improvement, product development).
- Monitor analytical equipment performance; assessing reliability of equipment, identifying failures and causes of failures, and recommending solutions.
- Mentoring and influential leadership of lab resources.
- Work with Commercial and Quality teams to respond to customer inquiries and/or quality notifications.
- Work with other onsite businesses to respond to site issues or inquiries.
- Interface with R&D and Commercial resources to develop innovations and coordinate analytical methods across the business.
- Develop, maintain, and improve analytical methods.
Qualifications
- B.S. in chemistry or related discipline.
- Two or more years of experience in chemical, polymers, or energy related fields is preferred.
- Hands on capability and interpretation skills in thermal, rheology, spectroscopy, chromatography, microscopy, or wet chemistry.
- High comfort level with analytical instrumentation, including instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs.
- Effective communication, both verbal and written, especially in technical writing.
- Proficient with MS Office.
- Strong understanding and commitment to safe lab practices and chemical handling.
- Ability to organize, keep detailed documentation/records, and achieve timely, accurate results.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and be part of the team.
- Must strive for continuous improvement and be eager to learn new disciplines.
- Must be energetic, self-motivated, and a quick learner.
